Each
swimmer will now have an opportunity to earn a medal for consistent
improvement, to be awarded at the end of the season.
Here’s
how it works:
A
Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal is awarded based on how many improved
times the swimmer achieves over the course of the season. Improved
times are counted in all individual strokes (not relays) in any meet
or invitational. For example, a swimmer may have 3 improvements in
butterfly and 7 improvements in freestyle for a total of 10 to receive
a Silver Medal. This system is designed to give every swimmer a chance
to earn a medal: Just improve over the season and earn a medal. We
will have a medal meet at the end of the season so swimmers can have a
last chance to jump up to the next level.
